F3 Asian Championship – Rd 2 (Races 4,5,6)
February 5, 2021 - February 6, 2021
The Formula 3 Asia Championship is fully certified by the sport’s world governing body, the Fédération International de l’Automobile (FIA). The F3 Asian Championship Certified by FIA embraces the federation’s ground-breaking new single chassis, single engine concept.
Launched at the start of the 2018 season, the championship was an immediate success, attracting an international field of talented young single seater drivers.
Junior motorsport has grown across Asia in recent years, with FIA Formula 4 series in China, Japan and South East Asia giving young drivers a better opportunity than ever before to advance their skills and move up to the next level. With its international field and professional organization, the F3 Asian Championship Certified by FIA provides these young talents with the ideal environment in which to further their careers as well as – crucially – a realistic international benchmark.
The F3 Asian Championship represents a substantial boost to the FIA driver development pyramid concept, designed to take drivers from Formula 4 to Formula 1. Formula 4 China, established in 2015, was joined in 2017 by Formula 4 South East Asia, and both proving key feeder series for the F3 Asian Championship Certified by FIA.
The Tatuus F3 cars comply with the latest FIA specifications and feature a number of enhanced safety features, including the new Halo device and improved side impact protection, and have a six-speed paddle shift gear box. The car is powered by an autotecnica 270hp turbo engine. The official tire supplier is trusted partner, Giti Tires.
Carrying FIA Super License points for the champion, the series includes a Masters Class and Team Championship.
